Error: 'Print processor does not exist' when installing Epson Driver
When trying to install a version of the Epson printer driver you may receive this error.
'Print processor does not exist'
Solution:
- Open the registry editor (Start > Run > type regedit.exe and press Enter)
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Print Processors\winprint in registry editor.
- Check for existence of Driver key. If it does not exist, add new string value named Driver and set it equal to winprint.dll.
- Restart the Print Spooler service
- Attempt to re-install the Epson printer driver using the same driver setup that was failing.
CAUSE:
The missing registry key defines the DLL file to use as the print processor.
